Future Bench

Future Bench is a parallel competition to Athens Bench Mark (recently in the Bustler News). The competition is different in that it allows artists and designers free range of their artistic expression without technical guidelines to limit them. All they need is imagination.

So if you’re an artist with great imagination, what do you imagine the Future Bench looks like for you?

Read the technical specifications and start working on your proposal where online visitors will view and vote for on the Athens Bench Mark website.

Once again, the public will vote which fifty (50) designs/creative proposals they like best. The proposals with the highest scores win the Audience Award for most voted design. The fifty proposals will then be placed for an exhibition show titled “Future Bench”.

Additionally, the evaluating committee will select the top three (3) proposals and accordingly award the winners prizes by rank of choice: 3,000 Euros for 1st place; 2,000 Euros for 2nd place and 1,000 Euros for 3rd place. The creator who receives 1st prize will be happy to know that the project will be realized; it will be built and installed in a public space in Athens!

The competition begins February 23rd, 2010 and ends April 26th, 2010, so get your imagination to work now!

From February 23rd until April 29th the public will judge and rate each submission entry through a simple process.
