The Emirates Glass LEAF Awards

Register/Submit Deadline:  Friday, Jul 2, 20106:29 AMEDT

This year’s Emirates Glass LEAF Awards entry categories have been announced. This prestigious event, once again sponsored by Emirates Glass, will take place on 10 September 2010. Following the success of last year’s event which took place in Berlin, the 2010 LEAF Awards, now in their seventh year, move to London, where it will attract entries from around the world.
The awards are open to individuals and organisations that have made an outstanding contribution to the world of architecture. Previous winners have included Woods Bagot, Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architects, Zaha Hadid, David Chipperfield, SOM, Steven Holl and Terry Farrell.
The Emirates Glass LEAF Awards Categories are:
∙ Mixed Use Building of the Year
∙ Residential Building of the Year
∙ Commercial Building of the Year
∙ Public Building of the Year
∙ International Interior Design Award
∙ Master Planning and Landscaping
∙ Young Architect
∙ Best Sustainable Development
∙ Best Structural Design of the Year
Winners will be judged by a panel of distinguished experts from the architectural sector and announced at the gala dinner at a five-star hotel in London. All entries will remain confidential to the judges until the official Awards presentation takes place. Shortlisted candidates will receive extensive coverage on www.designbuild-network.com. All winning entries will be published in The LEAF Review.
Suzanne Ellingham, LEAF Awards Manager commented: “The Emirates Glass LEAF Awards honour the architects designing buildings and solutions that are setting the benchmark for the international architectural community. Once again we expect keen competition with hundreds of entries from both world famous architects and those currently little known with projects covering the whole spectrum of building.”
Entries are now open for projects to be submitted. Closing date for entries is 1 July 2010.
