We are seeking projects for our national (UK) launch on 5th October.
On wefund.co.uk, creators of projects collect pledges towards a funding goal. Only if they hit their funding target do their backers get charged. It’s a risk free way of testing ideas and products and you keep 100% of the rights to your creation.
Email Mike at [email protected] to submit your idea for a project and then:
Step 1
Make a short video about the project. This can be very short and low-fi, it just needs to explain who you are and what you plan to do with the money.
Step 2
Come up with a series of perks to incentivise people to back your project. Could be tickets to the launch party, copies of a project book, mentions in a programme, copies of the product....it's up to you.
Step 3
Send the link to your page to everyone you know – all the social networks are a button away
Step 4
If hit your funding target, then your backers’ cards get charged and you instantly get the funds, if you don’t then no-one gets charged anything.
Step 5
You make the project and deliver on your promises.
Example: you’re a product designer and you have an idea for a lamp. You find out your manufacturer’s minimums, or you work out how to make it economically yourself. You post a video explaining that if you get, say, 200 orders you’ll do a short run of the lamps. You’ve matched demand and supply exactly.
Example 2: you’re an architect and you have an idea for a temporary structure/installation. You post a video showing your drawings and where you’ll build it and you explain that you’ll invite all your backers to a party at the unveiling, maybe you give them a booklet for a bit extra, maybe list your top patrons in the middle.
