Beyond the Groundwork: Auburn University School of Architecture Alumni Work.

Registration Deadline:  Wednesday, Dec 1, 20108:27 PMEDT

Submission Deadline:  Wednesday, Dec 15, 20108:27 PMEDT

Auburn University's Architecture Program Alumni are invited to submit work for Beyond the Groundwork, an exhibition in conjunction with the Program's NAAB accreditation review exhibitions in February of 2011. Beyond the Groundwork will feature work both in and around architecture, and will illustrate the quality and diversity of Auburn alumni work to the NAAB Accreditation Team, to faculty and students of the school, and to the public.

This exhibition aims to display a wide survey of alumni work, regardless of whether their career has followed a traditional or unconventional career path, everyone is encouraged to participate. Alumni are encouraged to submit work for which they are the sole author, and work developed in team settings where they have played a significant role.

Beyond the Groundwork, is both a physical and a digital exhibition. The Alumni Exhibit will be installed at the Jule Collins Smith Museum on the AU campus, opening on February 12th and on exhibit thru February 27th.

The Alumni Web Gallery will become a permanent feature of the CADC website and will provide the Auburn community valuable insight into the quality and diversity of the creative work of Auburn architecture alumni. While we envision that the majority of the exhibited work will be submitted in digital form, we would also welcome proposals to exhibit physical work samples (objects, models, etc.) that alumni choose to submit. Applicants whose work is not best represented through graphic images but through narrative are also encouraged to complete an online alumni profile. These biographical narratives will be on display at the exhibition.

All applicants are encouraged to submit work for both the Alumni Exhibit and for the Alumni Web Gallery. Submissions for both venues will be made digitally via the AUSoA website. http://cadc.auburn.edu/soa/alum_exhibit

Printing and mounting of the Alumni Exhibit boards will be provided through a generous in-kind service grant from  Imaging Technologies of Birmingham (www.itrepro.com).
