CULBURB: Cultural acupuncture treatment for suburbs – Warsaw call registration

The second CALL of CULBURB project for urban interventions in the district of Ursus, Warsaw is open. Call is targeted at architects, artists, urban researchers as well as urban activists and anyone interested in the problems related to the city. The proposed actions can adopt both the form of physical interventions in the urban space as well as of temporary, one-off, performative activities. The proposals should embrace the complex social and political situation, as well as the multi-layered character of the district’s problems.

The project serves the purpose of infusing life into the debate on the problems and potential of suburban districts through micro-interventions, the so-called urban acupuncture. Carried out with the use of a minimum of resources, the projects in urban space are to indicate the direction of changes, activate the inhabitants: become the “crystallisation points” of large-scale transformations.

Registration period for participants ends on the 29th March 2012. We welcome applications in the form of filled application forms and CVs. At the next stage, intervention descriptions are accepted until the 19th April 2012. Please send all documents to: [email protected]
