NEW Contemporary Bridge in PARIS

This International Ideas competition challenges participants to design a NEW Contemporary Bridge over the River Seine in Paris. The Seine divides Paris into two very distinct areas: the Right Bank to the north and the Left Bank to the south.

The proposed design concept should be bold, elegant and differentiate itself from existing bridge forms in Paris. It should suggest a fresh contemporary story of the bridge form in Paris - a new Passage to the Arts and what is possible today.

The NEW Bridge design should make a statement, create a new Icon or landmark in Paris, considering that there are approximately 37 Bridges over the Seine and should take into account the position, location and the expectations for such an Iconic bridge in a city like Paris.
