7th Annual Radical Innovation in Hospitality Awards

Register/Submit Deadline:  Saturday, Mar 2, 20137:59 AMEDT

Acting as a catalyst for new ideas in hospitality design, Radical Innovation in Hospitality Award will soon accept submissions on Dec 14, 2012 for its international competition, which has challenged the hotel industry to create innovative concepts for the past six years. Radical Innovation was co-founded and is co-produced by The John Hardy Group and Hospitality Design magazine; it is sponsored by Global Allies.

All entries will be reviewed and three finalists will be selected by an esteemed jury: John Hardy, president/CEO, The John Hardy Group; Claude Amar, president, The John Hardy Group International; Michael Medzigian, chairman/managing partner, Watermark Capital Partners; Jena Thornton, managing director, Eagle Rock Ventures; Simon Turner, president, global development, Starwood Hotels; James Woods, president and chief operating officer, The Bowls; Wing Chao, renowned master planner, architect and designer. The event will be moderated by industry authority and speaker, Barbara DeLollis, Hotel Check-In Editor, USA Today.

Finalists then present their concepts in front of the jury and a live audience on Thursday, May 15 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, during Hospitality Design Expo. Attendees of the event will vote for the best idea, after listening to the jury debate; the winner will be announced on-site.

“Each year, we receive submissions that push the limits of what we expect from traditional hospitality as we set the stage for a showcase of true originality, introducing groundbreaking concepts from around the world,” said John Hardy, president/CEO, The John Hardy Group.

How to Submit
The grand prize is $10,000, second prize is $5,000, and student prize is $1,500.

The competition is open to all individuals, firms, and brands. Students are encouraged to enter (as the entry fee is waived for them) and they will be judged specifically in a student category.  Entries will be accepted from Dec. 14 – Mar 1, 2013. For more details on the competition, visit: http://www.radicalinnovationinhospitality.com/
Concepts must include guestrooms and public areas, and food and beverage facilities or other amenities are highly encouraged. All entries are scored on concept, design creativity, potential impact on industry, narrative, graphics, and viability.
