2014 SMIBE Moving Infographic Competition

Register/Submit Deadline:  Saturday, May 17, 20146:53 AMEDT

image

NOT SO BIG DATA is a challenge to create a one-minute moving infographic that uses data to tell a story about the built world. NOT SO BIG DATA means interpreting data less literally and more figuratively, in ways that is less prosaic and more poetic. We want the data to be the starting point, not the ending point. For this competition, SMIBE welcomes moving image stories that investigate, explore, and entertain our communities about social, environmental, political, technological, and economic issues that designers of the built world should be discussing.

Above all, we look for groundbreaking work that blends rigorous craft with original storytelling. Submissions should not exceed 1 minute in duration and can be produced in any motion image medium. Entry is free.

Competition opens March 28, 2014 and closes May 16, 2014. The winner will receive a cash prize of $250.

Visit smibe.net for more information.
