2015 SARA | NY Design Awards

NY Design Awards! Architects, Designers, Engineers, Artists, Students, and all related fields are welcome to submit!

GENERAL INFO
All entries are accepted with the explicit free right for publication, reproduction, and use by SARA and its sponsors without need for further approval. SARA is not responsible for protection of submissions.

Each individual submitting a project for judging guarantees that they have the legal right to submit the project and that any permission associated with the entry has been obtained from the architect of record, designer and owner. SARA is not responsible for verification of entry submission rights. Award recipients will be notified following the judging in mid-March, 2014. Winners will be required to submit a presentation board that describes the winning entry, to be displayed during the Awards Banquet. Clients, consultants and vendors are invited to attend, along with entrants and their families.

At the jury's discretion, the number of awards may be limited or expanded in any category. Special awards may be designated by the jury.

ELIGIBILITY
All built and unbuilt works are accepted. For categories 1-8, entrant must be a Registered Architect. For categories 9-12, Architects, Designers, Artists, and Students are encouraged to enter. No entry may be submitted which has previously won a SARA | NY Award. Team projects will be treated as if presented by a single firm, and will be judged as an individual project.

1. Housing
2. Education/ Institutional
3. Commercial (Industrial/ Retail)
4. Interior Design
5. Rehabilitation/ Remodeling
6. Conceptual/ Theoretical Projects
7. Small Projects
8. Sustainable Design

NON-BUILDING
9. The Arts - including but not limited to Architectural Graphics, Furniture, Photography, Lighting, Landscape, and Product Design
10. Strategic Planning/ Facility Studies/ Urban Design Studies
11. Computer Generated Architectural Rendering/ Animation/ Presentation

STUDENT
12. All projects are eligible, whether Practical, Theoretical or Artistic in nature

JURY
The jury shall consist of at least four architects and/ or industry professionals. Decisions of the Jury are final. Entries will be judged based on:
1. Program solution
2. Site and space planning
3. Construction system
4. Overall design solution and aesthetics
5. Details and function

AWARDS

Award of Merit
Award of Honor

REGISTER

1. Please download 2015 Design Awards Poster (visit www.sarany.org) and fill out Declaration of Intent form on the back and submit no later than February 9th, 2015 (UPDATED!).
2. Make checks payable to: Society of American Registered Architects
3. Entry fees MUST be sent with the Declaration of Intent.
4. Each entrant will receive (under separate cover) a registration number for each entry and an instruction package for submitting entries.

SUBMIT
1. Submit a PowerPoint Slideshow of no more than 10 slides for each entry on a CD-ROM. Images should be at a resolution of 300 dpi and the project number you are assigned should be on each slide. The selection of images should be comprehensive and enough to adequately visualize and describe the design problem and its solution. For example, for a building submission, images should include but not be limited to site plan(s), floor plan(s), elevation(s), and at least one view of the interior. Submissions for other categories are at the discretion of the entrant. (ONLINE SUBMISSION COMING SOON)

2. Data Sheets must be filled out and provided upon receipt of Declaration of Intent.
