Cloud Pergola / The Architecture of Hospitality

“Cloud Pergola / The Architecture of Hospitality” is the collaborative site specific environment the Croatian Pavilion will present at the 16th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia. Conceived and designed by Alisa Andrašek with the Pavilion’s curator Bruno Juričić, the installation hosted at the Corderie dell'Arsenale originally interprets FREESPACE, the theme proposed by Yvonne Farrell and Shelley McNamara, directors of this year's Venice Architecture Biennale, and takes it one step further, transforming the traditional Mediterranean typology into an installation that crosses the boundaries of architecture, art, engineering, robotic fabrication and computational models. Cloud Pergola is the place where Mediterranean architecture becomes an unprecedented landscape of the future.
