Designing a Destination

Wednesday, Sep 19, 20186 PM - 7:30 PMBST

Fora – Borough, 180 Borough High Street, SE1 1LB London, GB London, GB | Fora – Borough, 180 Borough High Street, SE1 1LB

Creatives live them. Entrepreneurs join them. Investors scour them. Cultural institutions shape them. Planners analyse them. Policymakers stimulate them. The UK’s creative clusters are booming, becoming both economically and socially important destinations.

At this debate, we'll explore the characteristics of a creative cluster and discuss if they are born or made. Our panel to debate this features leaders from Bankside’s and London’s entrepreneurial, creative and cultural community. The scene will be set by Donald Hyslop, Head of Regeneration and Community Partnerships at Tate Modern, and chair of Better Bankside, who will describe Bankside’s vision. Also on the panel will be; Katrina Larkin, Co-founder and Head of Experience at Fora; Kenneth Olumuyiwa Tharp CBE, Director of The Africa Centre; Nick Finney, NB Studio’s Creative Director who will describe how the Bankside story has shaped the expression of it creatively.
