Michael Meredith and Hilary Sample
Michael Meredith and Hilary Sample are architects and founders of MOS. They met at Syracuse University where they each received a Bachelor of Architecture (1994). Michael Meredith received a Master of Architecture with Distinction from the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University (2000). Hilary Sample received a Master of Architecture and the Suzanne Kolarik Thesis prize from Princeton University (2003). Currently, Michael Meredith is a professor of architecture at Princeton University. His previous teaching positions include professorships at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design (2004-2011), the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Design (2001-2004) and a Muschenheim Teaching Fellowship at the University of Michigan (2000-01). Hilary Sample is presently a professor at Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture Planning and Preservation and has previously taught at Yale University, the State University of New York at Buffalo as the Reyner Banham Teaching Fellow (2004- 05), and at the University of Toronto Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Design (2003-04). Together they have been visiting critics at the University of Southern California, Martell Lecturers at SUNY Buffalo, Fitzhugh Scott Endowed Chairs in Design Excellence at the School of Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee, and were the inaugural chairs for the University of Michigan Taubman College Practice Sessions.
