With Power comes great Responsibility

Tuesday, Jun 16, 20206:30 PM - 8 PMBST

Online Event | Click here to attend and/or register

There has never been a more important time to rethink collaboration in cities as sharing different ideas can support the design of a better urban environment for everyone. However, we first need to reflect on the role played by each of us.

On one hand, professionals bring to the table their valuable experience and knowledge but as Jane Jacobs and many others pointed out, they can often be egotistic and work in silos, failing to manage the complexity of our cities and respond to people’s real needs. On the other hand, opening up the forum to the general public to decide how their neighbourhoods should develop is a right they deserve, but is also a form of civic action that comes with a collective responsibility.

We’d like to invite you to an interactive virtual workshop to discover how every one of us, from experts to citizens, can learn to observe deeply the urban space around us, think critically and identify powers and responsibilities in the city making process. We aim to inspire a better understanding of urban life and a stronger collaboration between all key players as a way to contribute to the urgent advancement of social, economic and environmental justice.
