AIA Chicago Celebrates 65th Annual Designight Virtually on November 13
Online festivities include at-home awards program and lifetime achievement recipient presentation, cocktail hour and photo booth
WHAT: This year, the Chicago chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA Chicago) is honoring the city’s outstanding architectural projects virtually at Designight 2020. For the first time in the event’s sixty-five year run, the organization’s Design Excellence Awards ceremony and celebration will be a free online experience for members and non-members alike.
Upholding tradition where possible, the annual event will be emceed by Emmy-winning Chicago broadcaster and beloved television host Geoffrey Baer, WTTW’s vice president of original content production. Attendees will be Chicago’s leaders in architecture, engineering and construction. The event will also celebrate the 2020 Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient, Phillip C. Johnson, FAIA, of Johnson & Lee, Ltd.
Attendees of Designight 2020 can enjoy a virtual cocktail hour, photo booth and award ceremony, followed by various online after parties to network with fellow industry insiders. Tickets are free and open to the public, with a link to registration below.
