IIT Madras, the top engineering institute in India for five years in a row (2016–2020) as per the National Institutional Ranking Framework of the MHRD is proud to host the Archi-Tech Summit in association with L&T Construction, organized as a part of Shaastra, the technical fest of IIT Madras in a digital format for the first time.
Previously we have successfully organized the Defence Tech Summit (2020), the Law Tech Summit (2019), and the Green Energy Summit (2018). This year’s theme for the Summit, Archi-Tech, aims to provide the stakeholders with a platform to express and explore the integration of technology in Architecture and Design to spread the ideas of innovation, sustainability, and advancement.
The summit, this year, will be held on 27th and 28th February.
The two day conference will be inaugurated by Manit Rastogi (a celebrated global architect and the founder of Morphogenesis) and will host various insightful panel discusions, lectures from renowned architects over the world and exciting workshops. Our illustrious line-up consists of :
Panel Discussions:
Architectural Technology: Mr Ahmed Habeeb Khan (President of CoA), Dr Jaffer AA Khan, Gautam Tewari (Founder of SmartVizX, the largest Arch-Tech startup in India), and other renowned architects
Smart cities: Shri. Kunal Kumar (Joint Dir. Smart Cities Mission, India) , Mr. Sanjay Seth (Chief Executive Officer GRIHA Council) and Sridhar Gadhi (Founder and Executive Chairman Quantela)
Skill Building Workshops:
BIM: A brief introduction and a demonstration of BIM, of its uses in Design and Collaboration by one of the senior executives at L&T Construction.
GIS: A demonstration of the applications of GIS in real-world scenarios by one of the senior executives at L&T Construction
Virtual Reality: A practical look at the use of Virtual Reality technology in creating immersive visualizations by SmartVizX
Green Building: A practical guide on designing environmentally responsible and resource-efficient structures and cities by Ar. Gaurav Shorey who is the Founding Member of the GRIHA (TERI) rating system for Green Buildings
