Fortifying its mission to improve the architecture industry, Monograph, the premier practice operations platform for architects and design professionals, will launch its first-ever virtual conference, Section Cut. This one-day event, scheduled on Thursday, August 12, 2021, will feature fast-paced workshops, insightful keynotes, success stories, and more—all with a focus on how architecture firms of all sizes can supercharge their growth with practice operations.

Section Cut will allow the architecture community to start new conversations about practice operations and provide industry professionals with greater efficiency to manage their business. The conference will provide an open forum to discuss what it’s like to work through successes, failures, and pivots in the architecture industry.

“We started Monograph two years ago because we saw an industry-wide problem,” said Robert Yuen, CEO, and Co-Founder of Monograph. “As a former architect, I understand how strenuous the business side of architecture can be. Monograph was founded on the premise of simplifying that problem, and we believe there is a better way for firms to do business and are hopeful Section Cut will illuminate other AEC firms how Monograph can help streamline practice operations.”

This year’s conference theme is Good Decisions Drive Good Profits. Section Cut will kick-off at 11:00 AM EST and conclude at 7:00 PM EST. Keynote speakers will include Jessamyn Davis, COO & Creative Director, RIOS, and Elaine Molinar, Partner, Managing Director, SNØHETTA. Workshop topics will include finance management basics for small firms, performance marketing, building a hybrid practice and more - all designed to help you make better decisions to drive better profits. Virtual breakout sessions and happy hours will be included in the conference for attendees to build connections.

The one-day virtual conference will provide guidance for firm owners, operational leaders, finance directors, project managers, office managers and BIM teams on building effective practice operations for their own firms. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn firsthand from industry leaders and innovators who have used Monograph to improve operations, embrace transparency and forecast their firm’s financial health.

“The nature of the AEC industry is changing, and the future of design is actually in practice operations,” said Yuen. “Every profitable firm needs a strong operational leadership team or team members to leverage new tools, workflows, and team structures to stay ahead of the field. Section Cut is the event that highlights those who are already leading the way.”
