Oakland-based brand Model No., has collaborated with emerging designers Lauryn Menard and Baillie Mishler of PROWL design studio, fine artist Mike Han, and motion designer Natalie Liu on a collaborative collection and installation designed to inspire and encourage change within the furnishings industry. The installation, entitled Endless Loop: From Waste to Wanted will feature one-of-a-kind stools and tables designed by design duo Lauryn Menard and Baillie Mishler of PROWL, standing sculptures and pendant lighting by Model No and a monolith by fine artist Mike Han, all made entirely from plant-based ethically sourced materials such as FSC-certified and salvaged hardwoods. The collaboration amplifies Model No’s core message about the need for regenerative and circular manufacturing and presents a possible path on how to reduce the industry’s environmental footprint by employing circularity, technology, and imagination to produce furnishings that are stylish and sustainable.
