The League’s First Friday events are informal social gatherings that allow members to visit the offices of leading design practices and see work on the boards.

Founded in 1969, Robert A.M. Stern Architects (RAMSA) is internationally recognized for their broad portfolio of work that engages with place, history, and culture, bringing architectural traditions into new contexts. In the firm’s own words: “Forward doesn’t mean breaking with the past; forward means continuing traditions in a fresh new way.” Now led by 19 partners, RAMSA is a 260-person studio of architects, interior designers, and supporting staff based in New York City. The firm’s geographical scope has widened as the practice has diversified, with projects that range from educational campuses and public libraries to residential towers and family homes. RAMSA works throughout the United States as well as across Europe, Asia, and South America, and has earned numerous awards and citations for design excellence.
