From 8 February to 17 March, Madrid will host the seventh edition of the international Madrid Design Festival, turning the city into the capital of design and positioning it in a privileged place on the international scene. The 2024 event features the crafts of Castile La Mancha as an invited project, 53 exhibitions and installations; 177 brands, institutions and spaces and the participation of 695 professionals.
The seventh edition will once more turn the city into a benchmark for this discipline with an extensive programme of activities featuring designers, specialists and professionals from the sector. Alternative creative environments, the unifying force of design, dialogue or the understanding between professionals, companies and institutions are the pillars of this latest edition.
Under the common slogan of previous editions Redesigning the World, the festival aims to advocate design as the tool that is capable of promoting dialogue and providing a new look at the problems and circumstances that mark our daily lives, offering solutions. In this way, design will enter into dialogue with disciplines ranging from science, fashion, music, art and crafts, but design will also be used to talk about issues that affect our society, such as depopulation or loneliness among young people.
For yet another year, the festival will be held at the Fernán Gómez Cultural Centre as the main venue, which will be joined by other venues, such as the Cerralbo Museum, the National Museum of Decorative Arts, the The Garment Museum, CaixaForum Madrid, the ICO Museum or the Santa Barbara Palace, among others.
