The Design and Illustration Department at Tyler School of Art and Architecture proudly presents the D&I Speaker Series. Featuring leading designers and illustrators, these talks offer students the chance to engage with creative leaders who share their insights, experiences, and work. Each event, whether tied to a course or open to all, bridges classroom learning with real-world creative practice, creating unique opportunities for connection and inspiration.
The Art of Artificial: Agency Insights on the Use of AI AI has stormed the agency world, driving efficiencies and enhancing the creative process in previously impossible ways. These new tools provide incredible opportunities—but also present new challenges, including legal and ethical considerations. Steve will share Bailey Brand Consulting’s approach to managing this change, pulling back the curtain on the process of implementing generative AI creatively, how utilizing AI impacts commercial use in creative work, and why the technology has triggered lawsuits over copyright infringement and data use.
Steve Perry is an accomplished designer, mentor, and leader of creative teams. He has an in-depth understanding of the unique challenges brands face and a proven record of helping them meet those challenges head-on.
As Creative Director at Philadelphia-based agency Bailey Brand Consulting, Perry is focused on helping clients make their brands matter. He has collaborated with an impressive array of clients across myriad industries, ranging from ambitious startups to Fortune 500 companies such as Johnson & Johnson, GS1, Cornerstone Building Brands, Crown Holdings, DG Yuengling & Son and Twinings USA. His work has been featured in publications including “PRINT,” “HOW,” “Graphic Design USA” and “Communication Arts” and has been recognized with numerous regional and national awards, including the London International Advertising Gold Award, Fraser Papers Design Inspiration Award, and top honors in the HOW Self-Promotion Competition.
