Designtide Tokyo 2025

Saturday, Dec 6, 202510 AM — Sunday, Dec 21, 20257 PMJST

1F Forest hills west 4-18-16 Minamiaoyama, Minato-ku, Tokyo Tokyo, JP Tokyo, JP | 1F Forest hills west 4-18-16 Minamiaoyama, Minato-ku, Tokyo

DESIGNTIDE TOKYO is built on three core principles:

  • Design as a force for transformation
  • Respect for the autonomy, diversity, and processes of creators
  • A commitment to cultural continuity and future possibilities in design

We believe that design is not just about function or decoration-it’s about shaping ideas, building relationships with society, and driving change. Design lives in both the outcomes and the processes behind them: the questions asked, the thinking involved, and the ways in which creators engage with the world.

We value the individuality and independence of each designer, and see diversity as a source of innovation. By bringing together creators across generations, disciplines, and borders, DESIGNTIDE TOKYO creates a space for meaningful dialogue about the future of design.

In today’s fragmented landscape—where no single trend defines the era, it’s more important than ever to preserve and evolve upon the creative legacies that have shaped the design world. DESIGNTIDE TOKYO is a platform for rediscovering the stories and contexts behind beautiful forms—and for renewing our collective imagination about what design can be.

PERIOD

Week 1 2025.12.6 (Sat) 〜 12.7 (Sun)

DESIGNTIDE TOKYO Class of 2025

Class 2025 is an exhibition featuring works by students nominated by educators from universities, colleges, and vocational schools. Following the exhibition, a second round selection will be made through a vote by the recommending educators. The selected students will have the opportunity to participate in a follow-up exhibition.

Week 2 2025.12.12 (Fri) 〜 12.14 (Sun)

DESIGNTIDE TOKYO Main Exhibition

The main exhibition program of DESIGNTIDE TOKYO. This exhibition presents a curated selection of works from an open call juried by the event’s directors, invited creators recommended by each director, and selected participants from the student exhibition Class 2025.

Week 3 2025.12.18 (Thu) 〜 12.21 (Sun)

DESIGNTIDE TOKYO Market

An experimental design market where designers showcase and sell their products, prototypes, and original label creations. Crossing the boundary between product and craft, it serves as a platform where fragments of creation intersect—visualizing emerging design trends and new forms of value for the next generation.

The venue will be closed for installation from December 8 to 10 and December 15 to 17.
