Now Boarding: Fentress Airports + The Architecture of Flight

Saturday, May 28, 20166 PM — Sunday, Nov 27, 20166 PMCEST

Palazzo Bembo Venice, IT Venice, IT | Palazzo Bembo

Fentress Architects is honored to participate in the 2016 Venice Architecture Biennale. Invited by the European Cultural Centre and the Global Art Affairs Foundation, Fentress will present Now Boarding, an exhibition exploring the past, present, and future of airport design. The enormous complexity and rapid evolution of the airport typology is chronicled through the lens of five Fentress-designed terminals for Denver, Seoul-Incheon, Seattle, San Jose, and Los Angeles. These iconic airports of today are complemented by the firm’s visionary proposals for the Airport of the Future, as well as winning entries from the Fentress Global Challenge. Fentress will be featured alongside other world-renowned architects in Venice’s historic Palazzo Bembo from May 28 – November 27, 2016.

A specially-commissioned video interview series featuring Curtis Fentress will be presented as part of the Biennale. Fentress and other major figures in architecture discuss the discipline’s past and its future trajectory.
