Talk: Style: In Defence of... High Tech

Wednesday, Mar 1, 20177 PM - 8 PMBST

Sir John Soane's Museum, 13 Lincoln's Inn Fields, WC2A 3BP London, GB London, GB | Sir John Soane's Museum, 13 Lincoln's Inn Fields, WC2A 3BP

High Tech architecture, developed by Norman Foster and Richard Rogers, embraced new technologies and celebrated a building's construction with exposed structures and surfaces. But did it fail to deliver the industrialised construction it promised, and simply repeat tired situations? Here, Tim Abrahams champions the style.

Style: In Defence of... is a series of talks at the Soane Museum examining the content and context of style. Across six talks, in partnership with Machine Books, leading experts defend a style, confronting us with new ideas for contemplation and critique. Talks are followed by an audience discussion.
