IESNYC Lumen Awards To Be Presented At The 41st Annual Lumen Awards Gala in New York City On June 10, 2009, the NYC Section of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America will pay tribute to the most outstanding lighting projects created by designers in New York City—home to America’s largest concentration of lighting consultants, interior designers, architects and engineers—with a not-to-be-missed evening at the Chelsea Piers in Manhattan. Originally developed to encourage and publicly recognize excellence, professionalism, ingenuity and originality in lighting design, the Lumen Awards have grown more and more prestigious each year. Designed to honor the Lumen Awards recipients, the Gala is their night to shine and your night to bask in the glow of all the festivities. Last year’s Lumen Awards Gala was enthusiastically attended by close to 700 leaders in lighting design, architecture, interior design, engineering and manufacturing. To be sure you are one of the revelers this year, IESNYC suggests you make your reservation as early as possible. Although the Lumen presentations highlight the event, one need not be an award winner to find it a rewarding experience. Spectacularly located overlooking the Hudson River, the Gala is choreographed for fun and networking all evening long—from the cocktail party to dinner and dancing at the AfterGlow event. Whether you have ever attended, or never attended this highly anticipated yearly celebration, you definitely will want to save the date. In addition, IESNYC publishes the Lumen Journal, which serves as the event program as well as an annual directory of members, manufacturers, reps, distributors and contractors.
