PARASITES #1: ENCASTRABLE - Antoine Lejolivet & Paul Souviron

Vernissage: Saturday, September 19, 2009, 6 pm (until kicked out) In a yet-to-be-announced hardware store in Hamburg PARASITES - illegal exhibition is a new subversive exhibition concept. Four times a year, we organize exhibitions in non-art places - and illegally. We are sick of the normal white space boredom and for us art should be radical, experimental and not customized for the art market. For our first exhibition we invited the french duo Encastrable (Antoine Lejolivet, 35, and Paul Souviron, 29). They create temporary sculptures in home improvement stores - they use the store as a guerilla art residency. And as you can imagine: Such giant hardware stores offer unlimited resources - for free. On September 19, 6 pm, we celebrate a vernissage together with them in a home improvement store in Hamburg - with champagne, fingerfood and guided tours... until we get kicked out.
