The Changing State of the Design Press: Now What? Media experts discuss shifts in the design press and readership Who: Moderator: Kristen Richards, Editor of Oculus and www.ArchNewsNow.com Panelists include: • Robert Ivy, Editor-in-Chief, Architectural Record • Julie V. Iovine, Executive Editor, The Architects Newspaper • Michael Sorkin, Principal, Michael Sorkin Studio, writer/editor/design critic • John Hill, Founder and blogger, A Daily Dose of Architecture Where: Center for Architecture 536 LaGuardia Place New York, NY 10012 http://www.aiany.org When: Monday, April 26, 6 pm – 8 pm Cost: Free for members; $10 for non-members What: At a time when design publications are shrinking their staffs or disappearing altogether and online media are gaining prominence, what’s next for design journalism? In this panel discussion, hosted by the New York Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA NY), prominent members of the field will discuss trends and shifts in the design press. The discussion is co-sponsored by the AIA NY Marketing and PR Committee and the Oculus Committee. The Oculus Committee provides support for Oculus, a quarterly publication for AIA NY that explores architectural issues and practices in the New York region.
