DES RES: London's Housing Challenge

Thursday, Apr 24, 200811:28 PM — Saturday, Jun 14, 200811:28 PMEDT

London, United Kingdom - New London Architecture, The Building Centre | London, United Kingdom - New London Architecture, The Building Centre

London's population is growing faster than any other major European city, with an estimated increase of 700,000 people over the next 15 years. We are building - or have plans to build - a lot of new housing in London. But is it good enough, is it the right sort of housing and is it in the right place? What are the best projects that are being built? And will we be build enough of them to meet the needs of London's expanding number of households? This major new exhibition - sitting across all the NLA galleries - will tackle the challenges facing London's housing, from density to design, space standards to sustainability. From April 2008, NLA will turn its attention to London's residential market. Des Res: London's Housing Challenge will be NLA's biggest exhibition and events programme to date. Reflecting the enormity of the subject the exhibition will run across all the NLA galleries and be accompanied by a programme of conferences, talks and events. DES RES: London's Housing Challenge will fully explore the issues affecting planning, designing and developing London's housing. Official Website
