Design Speed Dating

“Design Speed Dating” is a series in which the Van Alen Institute plays matchmaker between emerging and established designers and professionals. We want to know about the brightest young talents around, and we want the design community at-large to know about them, too. We’ll pair designers selected through an open, competitive application process with prominent practitioners and critics for a round-robin of individual, half-hour portfolio reviews. As a participant, you’ll have a fantastic chance to refine and revise your work with guidance from the sharpest professionals around. After your date, your portfolio will join a growing archive in our collection, and be given a permanent place in the Reading Room. For this inaugural round, participants will be joined by LOT-EK, Mark Robbins, and other special guests; to be a part of this inaugural round, apply by submitting your digital portfolios to [email protected] before 5PM on May 5. Submissions must adhere to the following format: PDF files no larger than 5MB and no longer than 10 8.5”x11” single-sided pages.
