This exhibition will act as the initial kickoff showcase for the collection of ideas as it is unveiled to the public for the first time. railLA will then allow other Venues (See Call for Venues below) to adopt all of, or portions of, the exhibition for periods of time. This will allow the ideas to travel to other parts of Los Angeles, and hopefully other parts of California, the US and the world, to continually promote the discussion and contemplation of what the arrival of High Speed Rail means to society. The exhibit is being designed to incorporate all various submission formats, as well as allow all Ideas to be curated in any Venue setting without requiring re-submittal or exhibit redesign. CALL FOR VENUES Material gathered through the related Call for Ideas will be exhibited in an initial kick-off event on July 29, 2010 and inspire the panel discussion and community design charrette. Through railLA, the AIA and APA, in a joint effort, are calling for additional Venues for a travelling exhibit after the initial event, to act as branches or satellite exhibits for the Exhibition presenting the Call for Ideas. Eligibility Your venue must be able to hold at least 5 Ideas or Projects to be chosen by railLA. Because of the nature of the work, the Ideas and Projects will take-up varying amounts of space. Exhibits can and will be customized to suit the location you are submitting. Material will most-likely be a combination of physical image boards, as well as digital projections and physical models. All requests for display will be asked to provide power for any projection equipment, as well as display lighting for images and models. Form of Submittals All requests for display must be made via our online submission form, where you will be asked to submit your name, contact information, venue address, and a basic floor plan of the space with dimensions. Your venue information will be provided to each of the authors whose Ideas or Projects are presented at your venue. Additionally, your venue information may be incorporated into our website as a link, or advertised through our media outreach programs as you are willing to allow it. Rules of Display All donated work must be secured and protected such that it must be returned to railLA without damage of any kind. 208.57.134.178
