Talks begin at 20:00 The Neue Nationalgalerie, designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, opened its doors on September 15, 1968 in Berlin’s Kulturforum. 2008 marks the anniversary of the building’s 40th year and to celebrate both its architectural and institutional legacy, the museum will present a series of conversations between architects, artists, and curators that center on topics pertaining to the artistic, architectural and cultural climate of Berlin, past, present and future. There will also be a screening of Inigo Manglano-Ovalle’s „Alltagszeit“ (2001), a video work shot inside the museum, during the evening. The museum, and both of its current exhibitions, Hiroshi Sugimoto and Rupprecht Geiger, will be open to the public free of charge during opening hours on September 14th, and after 20:00 on the 15th.
