Architectural photography showcase to benefit wildfire recovery efforts in L.A.

From February 18th to March 28th, the Henrybuilt Los Angeles Showroom in the LA Arts District will be hosting a special exhibition of architectural photography called A Love Letter to LA to benefit causes directly involved in the recovery effort after the Los Angeles Fires.

Photo: Chris Mottalini

"The concept for the show was envisioned as a 'love letter', highlighting the city’s beauty, resilience, and complexity through personal and unique perspectives from architecture and design photographers. We left the choice of images and sizes up to the photographers, and the response was both immediate and overwhelmingly generous," Henrybuilt’s Andrea Klabanova told Archinect.

The twenty-nine donated images in the show, therefore, "capture a range of viewpoints — some purely architectural" that, together, showcase both iconic residences and tell untold stories about the "people and moments" that shape the city beyond its glamour.

The participants include Tanveer Badal, Roger Davies, Chase Daniel, Casey Dunn, Joe Fletcher, Alanna Hale, Mark Edward Harris, Laure Joliet, Stephen Kent Johnson, André Jones, Arturo + Lauren, Chris Mottalini, Yoshihiro Makino, Matthew Millman, Ye Rin Mok, Jenna Peffley, Jeremy Samuelson, Eric Staudenmaier, Tim Street-Porter, Nils Timm, Erik Stackpole Undehn, Dominique Vorillon, Paul Vu, Taiyo Watanabe, and Michael Wells.

Fully 100% of all funds raised will be donated to support the LAFD Foundation and CCF Wildfire Recovery Fund to support those affected by the recent wildfires. An opening reception will be held on Tuesday, February 18th, from 5:30 to 8 PM at 806 Mateo Street in Los Angeles.
