Dubai will host the 8th World Architecture Competitions award distribution ceremony next year.
An official delegation from Dubai Municipality under the leadership of its Acting Director General Eng. Hussain Nasser Lootah had recently attended the 7th World Architecture Competition Award Distribution Ceremony, which was held in Granada, Spain. Many personalities in the field of architecture from around the world attended the programme.
Dubai Municipality had participated in the ceremony in response to an invitation it received as the host city for the 8th cycle of the award. This event will showcase the creativity and skills of the best architects from around the world. It is a competitive event, which translates various architectural cultures from different countries of the world.
Lootah said that the Organizing Committee is keen to hold this event in Dubai to open up the field to Arab architects for participation.
He also called upon all the engineers and architects in the UAE to participate in this world competition by translating and reflecting their different skills and creativity in the field.
Lootah added that the world competition will revolve around designs that express the national identity of the UAE. The Municipality expects to send invitations for this event by July 2008 to engineers and architects from different parts of the world individually or as working groups. The Organizing Committee is also studying the possibility of sending invitations to consultancy offices.
