Kaohsiung Port Terminal Competition Shortlist Decided

We've just been informed that that a shortlist has been released for the Kaohsiung Port Terminal Competition.

Teams that have moved on from Stage One include:

  • Fei & Cheng Associates (R.O.C.)
    Reiser+Umemoto RUR Architecture PC / Jesse Reiser (USA)
  • HMC Group Inc. / Raymond Pan (USA)
  • Asymptote Architecture / Lise Anne Couture (USA)
  • Jet Architects Inc. / Edward Kim (Canada)
    CXT Architects Inc. / Dan Teh (Canada)
  • Ricky Liu & Associates Architects + Planners (R.O.C.)
    Takenaka Corporation / Masahiro Morita (Japan)

Earlier this year the team of RUR and Fei & Cheng were awarded first prize for the Taipei Pop Music Center Competition.

The Kaohsiung Port Terminal competition will take place from September through November, with stage two winners being announced on December 10th. The construction budget for the project is approximately $80,000,000 USD, and it is scheduled for construction in 2012 and expected to be in operation by 2014. The competition is sponsored by the Kaohsiung Harbor Bureau, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, Taiwan, ROC.
