High Tech Bus Stop in Paris by Patrick Jouin

The Bus Shelter Concept by Patrick Jouin for JCDecaux

French designer Patrick Jouin has shared with us his latest project for client JCDecaux – a high tech bus stop (free Wifi anyone?) situated at the corner of Boulevard Henry IV and Place de la Bastille in Paris. Jouin has collaborated with JCDecaux on urban furniture since 2007, most notably for Vélib, the public bicycle sharing system in Paris.

Project Description from the Designer:

A genuinely intelligent bus shelter for the future, it brings together new comfortable facilities (larger bench and roof, rear access, a glass roof which illuminates the night and filters out sunlight during the day), and new features such as free Wifi connection, the ability to charge your mobile and to discover the surrounding area and Paris in general thanks to a 72" screen which shows historic high definition images.
