And just like that, the month of August is almost over. If you're in Los Angeles, wrap up the summer season at the last event of the Materials & Applications VIS-Á-VIS performance series happening tomorrow evening at the M&A space.

Concluding the performance series, L.A.-based filmmaker Eugene Katlyarenko will present the Werner Herzog short, Nobody Wants to Play With Me and a special feature of the French surrealist cartoon, Le Roi et L'oiseau.

Visitors will watch the films at the Warren Techentin Architecture-designed La Cage aux Folles outdoor installation at M&A.

Learn more about the event below.

"VIS-Á-VIS will conclude on August 30 with Los Angeles filmmaker Eugene Kotlyarenko presenting Werner Herzog's short "Nobody Wants to Play With Me" and "Le Roi et L'oiseau" a classic French surrealist children's cartoon. Finished over the course of 40 years by writer Jacques Prevert, director by Paul Grimault the film was finished in 1980 but without a proper release in the USA, came to light gradually building what is now a rabid cult following and critical acclaim.

The story, loosely based on the Hans Christian Andersen fairytale, The Shepherdess and the Chimney Sweep, follows 'A chimney sweep and a shepherdess seek to escape from the clutches of a tyrannical king' (imdb)."

Below are a few photos of VIS-Á-VIS performances from earlier this month.
