A look at JAHN + LOGUER + ADG's Mexico City International Airport competition proposal

By Bustler Editors|

JAHN + LOGUER + ADG shared the details to their proposal from the recently concluded Mexico City International Airport design competition in Mexico. Francisco Gonzalez-Pulido, JAHN chief designer and president, collaborated with two locally based firms: Francisco Lopez-Guerra of LOGUER and Alonso de Garay of ADG.

In creating a forward-thinking airport for Mexico City, Gonzalez-Pulido took the chance to express his Mexican heritage in his design.

Check it out below.

Francisco Gonzalez-Pulido, on the collaborative team's proposal:

"'As both an architect and a Mexican, I am honored to have been a part of this historic process”, says Mr. Gonzalez-Pulido. He continues, “This was an opportunity for me personally to create something   inspired by my heritage. More than an efficient and functional machine for transportation, I envisioned   an airport as a technological, social and cultural manifest; deeply rooted in the history of the site but also respectful to the life of the Valley of Mexico. I wanted Mexico to be in the forefront of innovation, comparable to our projects like the Bangkok Airport and Post Tower.

Our team was outstanding. Our design was ahead of its time. For me it is still the best.'"
