Just a few weeks after 40 projects were shortlisted for the 2015 European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award, The European Commission and the Fundació Mies van der Rohe announced the five finalists today in London.
They are:
- Ravensburg Art Museum in Ravensburg, Germany by Lederer Ragnarsdóttir Oei
- Danish Maritime Museum in Helsingør, Denmark by Bjarke Ingels Group
- Antinori Winery in Firenze, Italy by Archea Associati
- Philharmonic Hall Szczecin in Szczecin, Poland by Barozzi / Veiga
- Saw Swee Hock Student Centre, London School of Economics in London, United Kingdom by O’Donnell + Tuomey
The next step? The Jury will visit all five finalist projects and gather first-hand info for evaluation. Then on May 7, the authors of each project will give a public presentation.
Finally, the grand prize winner -- along with an Emerging Architect Award and Young Talent Architecture Prize winner -- will be announced at a ceremony at the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion in Barcelona on May 8.
