Winners of the 2015 eVolo Skyscraper Competition

By Bustler Editors|

Monday, Mar 30, 2015

Year after year, the eVolo Skyscraper Competition continues to be a popular hit. The sky is indeed the limit for the worldwide competition, which gave participants complete freedom with their skyscraper designs. At the same time, entrants also had to examine the skyscraper's definition, purpose, and the potential for vertical living in the 21st century.

Out of 480 entries from all seven continents, the jury selected three winners:

  • 1ST PRIZE: "Essence Skyscraper" by BOMP (Ewa Odyjas, Agnieszka Morga, Konrad Basan, and Jakub Pudo) | Poland
  • 2ND PRIZE: "Shanty-Scaper" by Suraksha Bhatla and Sharan Sundar | India
  • 3RD PRIZE: "Cybertopia" by Egor Orlov | Russia

Fifteen honorable mentions were also announced.

"Since the competition began in 2006, eVolo has received more than 6,000 projects that envision the future of building high. These ideas, through the novel use of technology, materials, programs, aesthetics, and spatial organizations, challenge the way we understand vertical architecture and its relationship with the natural and built environments."
