Top-notch architects win in 2016 AIANY Design Awards

By Justine Testado|

Thursday, Mar 3, 2016

Novartis Pharmaceuticals Building in East Hanover, NJ by WEISS/MANFREDI Architecture/Landscape/Urbanism.

During a recent symposium at the Center for Architecture in New York, the AIANY announced the winners of the 2016 Design Awards. Every year, the chapter recognizes stellar projects in four categories: Architecture, Interiors, Projects, and Urban Design. In order to compete, projects had to be designed by AIANY members, NY-based architects or designers, or the projects had to be located in New York.

Out of 366 entries total, this year's jury selected 31 projects to receive Honor and Merit Awards. To add to that, the jury decided not to award a Best in Competition because they believed all the projects had a successfully developed concept and approach to resolve — and even elevate — particular challenges. As expected, the list of winners are full of familiar firm names.

Alongside other 2016 AIANY award recipients, the Design Awardees will be recognized during the Honors and Awards Luncheon at Cipriani Wall Street on April 15.

Scroll down to see the full list of winners, along with some photos of this year's Architecture Honor Awardees.
