Graham Foundation announces 59 grantee projects for 2016

There is plenty to reinvent within the realm of architecture, as the winners of the 2016 Graham Foundation individual grants prove yet again. The Chicago-based Foundation awards grants to inventive architectural projects, whether they're by architects, designers, writers, filmmakers, curators, visual artists, and the like. Evidently, competition is fierce. Out of 640 submissions this year, the Foundation selected 59 projects to receive grants, totaling over US$491,000. Just last month, two Ph.D. students from Columbia GSAPP and Duke University were announced as the Carter Manny awardees.

This year's grant-winning projects are a fun talented mix, with some familiar names. That includes Tatiana Bilbao Estudio, Beatriz Colomina, Alexandra Lange, Allan Wexler, and François Dallegret, to name a few. Several of the grants went to Publication and Research projects this year.
