(re)imagine modern at Dwell on Design, June 24-26

By Sponsor|

Thursday, Jun 2, 2016

Dwell on Design brings together the brightest people, products, and content in modern design. Featuring 400 brands that shape modern, over 2,000 furnishings & products, 40 on-stage presentations, 5 prefab homes, 3 days of Dwell Los Angeles Home Tours, and endless networking opportunities with thousands of like-minded design and trend-seeking enthusiasts, Dwell on Design invites you to reimagine modern.

Speaking of imagination, Dwell editors have enlisted a number of industry experts and thought leaders for panels during the three-day celebration of design – including keynote speaker and world-renowned architect, Sou Fujimoto. Fujimoto, who is the youngest architect to ever receive the prestigious Serpentine Pavilion commission, is a rising star in the world of contemporary architecture and was named Architecture Innovator of the Year by The Wall Street Journal in 2014. From his Tokyo-based practice, established in 2000, Fujimoto has reimagined the role of architecture in everyday life with his otherworldly residential designs, retail spaces, and public art installations that carry his signature touch for the delicate and the fantastical. His talk, which will take place at 6pm on Friday, June 24th, 2016, will set the tone for an exciting three-day event celebrating global architecture and design in the modern world.

With over forty onstage discussions, there will be myriad opportunities for visitors, vendors, and members of the trade to gather new insights, network with design professionals, peruse new products, and find inspiration. Curated by Dwell’s EVP-content and editor-in-chief, Amanda Dameron, the on-stage schedule was built with these 4 pillars in mind:

  1. Smart Home/Emerging Technology
  2. The Business of Design
  3. Nice Modernist
  4. Healthy Architecture

Explore stunning homes with three full days of Dwell Home Tours – covering the Mar Vista/Culver City, East Side/Hills and Santa Monica/Venice areas of Los Angeles. For more information on Dwell Home Tours Los Angeles dates, times, residences and architects see here.

New for 2016, award-winning international designer and TV host, Jamie Durie will serve as curator of the always-popular Dwell Outdoor. In addition, the multi-year partnership with imm cologne will bring a collection of international brands and designers like dsignedby, Magnus Mewes, Istanbul’Dan, My Kilos, Bartmann Berlin, Milena Kling, Terhedebruegge, llot llov, Voglauer and Lena Petersen.
