Join “Hip Hop Architect” Michael Ford and Design Justice advocate Bryan Lee Jr. at SXSW Eco, October 12

By Justine Testado|

Tuesday, Oct 4, 2016

“Designing a Just City: Hip Hop Architecture” examines architecture through the lens of hip hop culture, in addition to the communities historically underserved by design. If you'll be attending SXSW Eco in Austin next week, don't miss out on this keynote event on October 12.

As discussions on the oppression of communities of color continue to go mainstream, this timely conversation explores hip hop as a fresh approach toward creating and building architecture that is socially equitable. Speakers include Michael Ford aka “The Hip Hop Architect”, Design Justice advocate Bryan Lee Jr., and Forbes Media Editor Zack O'Malley Greenburg. Ford will discuss the cross-disciplinary process of Hip Hop Architecture that he used in designing The Universal Hip Hop Museum in the Bronx. Lee will talk about design justice through his pavilions in New Orleans.

You can learn more about the event in the link below.
