It's hard enough to get through architecture school, and recent graduates often wonder “How do I get myself out there?”. One new creative platform is the Young Talent Architecture Award in Europe. Organized by the Fundació Mies van der Rohe and Creative Europe, the YTAA was established to recognize the talents of recent graduates in architecture, urban planning, and landscape architecture as they begin their professional careers. The competition is based in Europe for now, but it's likely to expand to more regions in the future.
Not surprisingly, the first competition got a solid amount of attention. Over 100 European schools nominated their top graduation projects from the 2015-16 academic year. Out of 211 submissions, the jury shortlisted 30. Then out of nine finalists, three will be announced as the YTAA winners during a ceremony at the Teatro Piccolo Arsenale at the Venice Architecture Biennale next Friday, October 28.
