American Architecture Prize announces 2017 Firms of the Year

The American Architecture Prize (AAP) revealed the 2017 winners of the Firm of the Year competition, which recognizes top-notch projects in architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture across the world. Firms based in over 40 countries sent in applications for a chance to win. An esteemed 32-member jury evaluated each firm's complete portfolio, taking into account the company's size, specializations, and resources. 

In the end, the jury selected the following firms as the three main category winners, who will each receive an AAP trophy:

↓ Architectural Firm of The Year: Allford Hall Monaghan Morris from London, United Kingdom

↓ Landscape & Urban Design Firm of the Year: PFS Studio from Vancouver, Canada

↓ Interior Design Firm of The Year: Kossmann.dejong from Amsterdam, The Netherlands

The jury also picked 19 subcategory winners. Among them were:

↓ Small Firm of the Year Award in Multi-Disciplinary Architecture: Desai Chia Architecture from New York, U.S.

↓ Small Firm of the Year Award in Residential Architecture: Chang Architects from Singapore

↓ Medium Firm of the Year Award in Institutional Architecture: JGMA

Last but not least, the AAP recognized another 31 shortlisted firms, which included Studio Gang for Multi-Disciplinary Architecture; Toronto-based Studio Munge for Multi-Disciplinary Interior Design; and Vienna-based Destilat, who was shortlisted in Commercial and Industrial Interior Design.

The winners will be invited to attend the AAP Winners Event in New York City this October. The full list of winners can be found on the AAP's website.
