The American Architecture Prize is a global platform that honors innovation and creativity in architecture. The mission of AAP is to celebrate and endorse creativity, design excellence, innovation and exceptional achievements across architectural fields. With entries from all over the globe competing for excellency, the AAP winners represent some of the greatest contemporary architectural achievements.

In addition to the American Architecture Prize this year, the AAP has introduced a new award program: the AAP - Firm of the Year Award, which allowed the AAP to honor firms for their total body of work, considering their specializations and respective resources. Small, medium and large companies each are recognized on their own terms.

With applications from over 40 countries, global attention was high for the inaugural award program. Advocates to architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture, AAP’s juries acknowledged the work of 20 companies upon their respective specializations.

Three firms have been chosen as the main category winners in 2017 for their accomplishments and visions:

  • Architectural Firm of The Year: Allford Hall Monaghan Morris (London, United Kingdom)
  • Landscape & Urban Design Firm of the Year: PFS Studio (Vancouver, Canada)
  • Interior Design Firm of The Year: Kossmann.dejong (Amsterdam, The Netherlands)

The complete list of winners - including the 19 subcategory winners and 31 shortlisted firms is available here.

Winners received their trophies at the New Museum Sky Room in New York City on October 27, 2017. Over 250 of the world's most celebrated architects attended the sold-out event. View photos from the event here.
