Here are the winning installations reinterpreting the concept of "wall" in CODE's recent competition

CODE–Competitions for Designers–and con-fine Art announce the winners of The Wall, the competition of ideas that has been launched last 25th of September with the aim to design an installation to re-interpret the concept of “wall”.
The competition has been supported by several local institutions like Regione Emilia Romagna, Città Metropolitana di Bologna, the Municipality of Bologna, the University and School of Fine Arts of Bologna and World Stage Design. Participants from all around the world faced a challenging topic: the design of a series of installations for some landmarks of Bologna’s landscape giving extent to the creative debate of “The Wall. History, Art, Multimedia”, the latest exhibition of con-fine Art. The contest The Wall gave to designers the unique opportunity to contribute to one of the most appealing exhibitions of the contemporary cultural landscape aiming to a place in this international debate as interpreter of the meaning and role of a proper element of the humankind.
Around 200 projects from 44 countries have been submitted to the assessment of the competition’s jury that was made of leading design personalities in the international design field: Arnaldo Pomodoro, Edoardo Tresoldi, Massimo Iosa Ghini, Franco Purini, TAMassociati, Anna Rossellini (Unibo), Valentina Silvestrini (Artribune), Alessandro Caruso (Insideart), Roberto Grandi (Unibo), Patrizio Ansaloni (art director of con-fine Art). A total cash prize of € 10.000 will be awarded to the winner projects: team “Inter-Esse” won a 1st Prize of € 5.000, while a 2nd Prize of € 2.000 and a 3rd Prize of € 1.000 will be respectively rewarded to the Italian team “CoFuKo” to team Stefan&Sophie; from London. Four additional Gold Mentions of € 500 each will be awarded to teams OHA (Germany), Enrico Evangelisti (UK), Di Betta – Piazza (Italy), Davide Coluzzi DAZ (Italy). The first 7 winner projects will be also exhibited during “The Wall. History, Art, Multimedia” exhibition at Palazzo Belloni in Bologna from 24th of November to 6th of May. In addition, the jury selected 32 more projects giving them a mention for their design quality: 10 of them received a “Honorable Mention”, while the others received a “Finalist Meention”.
