Salon Architects' cultural event space among winners of 2018 German Design Awards

Salon Architects, based in Istanbul, were among the 2018 German Design Award winners for their project titled Parkopera. The project was nominated under the architecture category of Excellent Communications Design. Launched in 2012, The German Design Awards are aimed at discovering unique trends in the international design landscape.

Parkopera is a multi-purposed cultural facility serving to unite its surrounding neighborhood by hosting various cultural events accessible to all. The site's park, lounging area, and interior hall function as spaces for shows, concerts, and other activities.

On the upper level of the foyer, the platform is used as a balcony for different types of shows. The lodges attached to the platform have been designed as a mezzanine floor to serve either as a café, bookstore, bistro or similar functions.
