Planning ahead for another busy week in Los Angeles? Bustler put together a snappy list of architecture and design events happening around town. This week, join the Association for Women in Architecture + Design for their 2018 Symposium and Scholarship Awards; check out SCI-Arc's student Spring Show 2018; or visit Olafur Eliasson's mesmerizing “Reality projector” at the Marciano Art Foundation. Read on for our latest weekly event recommendations.

Intersectionality: 2018 AWA+D Symposium | April 28

Join the Association for Women in Architecture + Design on April 28th from 9am to 1pm at the Pssst Gallery located at 1329 East 3rd Street, Los Angeles, CA for the 2018 AWA+D Symposium and AWAF Scholarship Awards. This year, AWA+D will host a conversation among panelists whose work amplifies underrepresented voices, engages cross-disciplinary thinking, and design for social impact to discuss the recent resurgence of intersectional feminism and catalyze its potentials within the Los Angeles design community.

Olafur Eliasson: Reality projector | Open now until August 26

For their second artist project, the Marciano Art Foundation invited Olafur Eliasson for his first major exhibition in L.A. in over a decade. Titled “Reality projector” (2018), Eliasson has conceived of a seemingly simple, yet complex installation that uses projected light and the existing architecture of the space to create a dynamic shadow play. The artwork references the space’s former function as a theater as well as the history of filmmaking in the city by turning the entire space into an abstract, three-dimensional film.
