Archinect Outpost and A+D Museum present: Single-Handedly book launch event

By Shane Reiner-Roth|

Friday, Jun 21, 2019

Join Archinect in celebrating the launch of the latest book by Nalina Moses, Single-Handedly: Contemporary Architects Draw by Hand, published by the Princeton Architectural Press. The event will be held at the A+D Museum, with copies of the book sold at Archinect Outpost, on Saturday, June 29th, from 6-7pm. Our address is 900 East 4th Street in the Los Angeles Arts District.

The panel will start at 6, and will feature book contributors Bryan Cantley, Rick Gooding, Dwayne Oyler, Frank Escher and Nalina Moses. The event is hosted by Princeton Architectural Press, the A+D Museum, Archinect and Blick Art Materials, which will be providing gift bags for guests.

The book can be preordered here for pickup at the event or shipping immediately after the event. Please go here to RSVP for the event.

Single-Handedly is a curated selection of contemporary architectural illustrations by Nalina Moses, an architect and writer who lives and works in New York City. After being trained to draw with both digital and analog tools, Moses "recently returned to hand drawing. Finding it to be direct, pleasurable, and intuitive, she wondered whether other architects felt the same way."

"Single-Handedly is the result of this inquiry. An inspiring collection of 220 hand drawings by more than forty emerging architects and well-known practitioners from around the world, this book explores the reasons they draw by hand and gives testimony to the continued vitality of hand drawing in architecture. The powerful yet intimate drawings carry larger propositions about materials, space, and construction, and each one stands on its own as a work of art."

Single-Handedly features drawings from over 20 international architects including Perry Kulper, Dwayne Oyler, Frank Escher and Studio Fuksas.

We hope to see you there!
