BACK STORY

This will be our 3rd year to launch Mars City Design™ competition, focusing on the infrastructure, architecture and innovation, we look for collaborating with the winning teams to create the blueprint of the first cities on Mars.

Selected teams have been benefitting promotions to continue this unique career path, in space/ Mars-architecture (Marschitecture), astro-engineering, Martian agriculture, Micro-gravity bio engineering and Mars Mix Reality (VR/AR). 

Through a two week Mars City™ Summer mentorship program, selected teams expand their knowledge and skill in discovering this new unique journey and learn about Mars Challenges. Space professional figures who were present in previous workshops and Gala events: Moon walker Buzz Aldrin, Space walker Dr. Gregory Chamitoff, and Jedi Master, creator of Yuri's Night Loretta Whitesides. Finalist teams also visit space industries (Previous visits: NASA JPL, Virgin Galactic, SpaceX, Mojave desert) and learn about the path these pioneers are building for us to reach Mars. Finalist teams train to build their designs using the most futurist tools, experiment some prototypes.

A Gala Award Ceremony is held in Fall, where winners are invited to receive an Award in a prestigious place in Los Angeles, the event is well known as the "Oscars of Mars Innovations".

Finally, winning designs will be exhibited all year long, in a list of prestigious space, architecture, urban design, technology conferences and forums around the world, where Mars City Design™ is invited to present, this year with Eleven Magazine, London Design Museum and Compass. If selected by investors, winning designs can benefit some funding to develop their ideas in collaboration with Mars City Design™, or participate in the NASA grant.
